“Creating Purposeful and Engaging Speaking and Listening Activities for Language Learners”

This webinar will focus on strategies for creating purposeful and engaging speaking and listening activities for language learners in remote classrooms. Presenters will share general techniques to consider when designing speaking and listening activities whether you are in a remote classroom or a face-to-face classroom as well as opportunities and considerations unique to virtual settings and the integration of technology tools and resources.

Webinar space is limited to 500, and is provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Meet our Presenters:

Kimberly Chernesky has worked in adult education since 2013 and has worked both as an ESL coordinator and ESL instructor. This journey has led her to pursue her Doctor of Education degree in educational leadership and management with a concentration in learning technologies at Drexel University with the anticipation of graduating in 2021. She holds 3 Pennsylvania Teaching certifications: Reading Specialist, Elementary Education, and Early Childhood Education.

Hanna Schlosser is the PAACE ESL Division Assistant Chair. She is the manager for the Professional Learning Opportunities Project. Hanna received her Master’s in Education in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Pennsylvania. She has taught English in both academic and community-based settings in Wisconsin, Costa Rica, and Pennsylvania. Hanna has created and facilitated various professional development opportunities for adult education instructors in PA as well as teaching and mentoring novice teachers at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education.
