In a year of unusual events, it seems especially strange not to be preparing to travel for the PAACE Conference. However, while we aren’t packing our bags and comfortable shoes, the PAACE organization is working hard to plan its first virtual conference scheduled for April 20 through the 23, 2021.
With all of our new responsibilities as teachers and administrators, it is easy to put renewing our PAACE memberships on the back burner, but in these times, your membership is more important than ever. I want to take this opportunity to encourage you to renew your membership for 2021 and remind of you of everything that PAACE has to offer.
By now, you’ve probably learned that Governor’s Wolf’s budget calls for level funding for adult education. As we recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and rebuild our workforce, adult education will be more important than ever. PAACE’s advocacy team is providing resources to support and simplify your advocacy efforts.
The professional development team is planning virtual events to meet the needs of the field, and the conference committee is working to provide a dynamic, virtual event. If you registered to attend last year’s conference, that registration carries over to this year’s virtual conference when you renew your membership. Additionally, we would like you to invite a buddy to attend the conference – free of charge! This is a great way to introduce a peer who isn’t a member to the organization or provide the opportunity for someone to attend the conference who would not normally be able to do so. I hope that you are able to renew your membership and take advantage of everything that PAACE has to offer.
See you at the conference!
